Scientists from the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics and Self-Organization (MPI-DS) have now derived universal rules to enable the de novo design of optimal enzymes.<\/p>\n<p>The paper is <a href=\"https:\/\/linkinghub.elsevier.com\/retrieve\/pii\/S2667109325001320\" target=\"_blank\">published<\/a> in the journal Chem Catalysis.<\/p>\n<p>As an example, they considered the <a href=\"https:\/\/phys.org\/tags\/enzymatic+reaction\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">enzymatic reaction<\/a> of breaking a dimer into two monomer molecules.
