Investigators from Mass General Brigham developed a deep learning algorithm called \u201cFaceAge\u201d that uses a photo of a person\u2019s face to predict biological age and survival outcomes for patients with cancer.<\/p>\n<p>They found that patients with <a href=\"https:\/\/medicalxpress.com\/tags\/cancer\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">cancer<\/a>, on average, had a higher FaceAge than those without and appeared about five years older than their <a href=\"https:\/\/medicalxpress.com\/tags\/chronological+age\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">chronological age<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Older FaceAge predictions were associated with worse overall <a href=\"https:\/\/medicalxpress.com\/tags\/survival+outcomes\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">survival outcomes<\/a> across multiple cancer types.
