It has the potential to significantly reduce the sector\u2019s environmental impacts.<\/p>\n<p>This is the first universal recycling process that brings any type of used silicone material back to an earlier state in its <a href=\"https:\/\/phys.org\/tags\/life+cycle\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">life cycle<\/a> where each molecule has only one silicon atom. And there is no need for the <a href=\"https:\/\/phys.org\/tags\/raw+materials\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">raw materials<\/a> currently used to design new silicones.
