This research, published in <i><i>The Lancet Neurology<\/i>,<\/i> may lead to the global guidelines for the treatment of these patients being adjusted.<\/p>\n<p>In the Netherlands, about 2,000 people with <a href=\"https:\/\/medicalxpress.com\/tags\/carotid+artery+stenosis\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">carotid artery stenosis<\/a> are operated on every year after they have had a stroke.
