Their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41594-025-01517-5\" target=\"_blank\">findings<\/a> were published in the paper, \u201cMolecular glues that inhibit deubiquitylase activity and inflammatory signaling,\u201d in Nature Structural &amp; Molecular Biology.<\/p>\n<p>The Wistar Institute\u2019s Joseph Salvino, Ph.D.\u2014in collaboration with Elton Zeqiraj, Ph.D., of The University of Leeds and Roger Greenberg, M.D., Ph.D., of The Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania\u2014led the study.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMolecular glues are an exciting new area of research that allows us to fight disease by working with the body\u2019s systems rather than against them,\u201d said Dr. Salvino. \u201cBy gluing together an inactive form of the BRISC complex with our system, we\u2019re able to reduce the continuous inflammatory signaling due to dysregulated BRISC complex activity in <a href=\"https:\/\/phys.org\/tags\/autoimmune+diseases\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">autoimmune diseases<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Researchers have discovered a type of \u201cmolecular glue\u201d that can be used to inhibit certain pathological protein interactions.
