Without MCL-1, these cells undergo stress and eventually die, leading to hair loss, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41467-025-58150-5\" target=\"_blank\">as reported in<\/a> a <i>Nature Communications<\/i> study.<\/p>\n<p>Hair follicles are small tunnel-like structures in the skin where hair grows.
