Thanks to a new compression algorithm called Brotli, which Google <a href=\"http:\/\/google-opensource.blogspot.fr\/2015\/09\/introducing-brotli-new-compression.html\">introduced<\/a> last September, Chrome will be able to compress data up to 26 percent more than its existing compression engine, Zopfli, which is an impressive jump.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/plus.google.com\/u\/0\/+IlyaGrigorik\/posts\/X9ogn4fLtHL\">According<\/a> to Google\u2019s web performance engineer Ilya Grigorik, Brotli is ready to roll out, so Chrome users should expect to see a bump in load times once the next version of Chrome is released. Google also says Brotli will help mobile Chrome users experience \u201clower data transfer fees and reduced battery use.\u201d The company is hailing Brotli as \u201ca new data format\u201d that Google hopes will be adopted by other web browsers in the near future, with <a href=\"http:\/\/bitsup.blogspot.com\/2015\/09\/brotli-content-encoding-for-firefox-44.html\">Firefox<\/a> seemingly next in line to adopt it.
