Their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pnas.org\/doi\/abs\/10.1073\/pnas.2422455122\" target=\"_blank\">findings<\/a> were recently published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe humans, we adapt how we write and how we speak to the situation. Sometimes we\u2019re formal or informal, or there are different styles for different contexts,\u201d said Alex Reinhart, lead author and associate teaching professor in the Department of Statistics &amp; Data Science.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat we learned is that LLMs, like ChatGPT and Llama, write a certain way, and they don\u2019t necessarily adapt to the <a href=\"https:\/\/techxplore.com\/tags\/writing+style\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">writing style<\/a>. The context and their style are actually very distinctive from how humans normally write or speak in different contexts.
