(WPRI) \u2014 Pancreatic cancer is the 10th deadliest form of cancer in the United States, <a href=\"https:\/\/seer.cancer.gov\/statfacts\/html\/pancreas.html\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\"> according to the National Cancer Institute<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Fewer than 13% of those battling pancreatic cancer live for more than five years after their diagnosis. That\u2019s likely because roughly 90% of diagnoses are made after the disease has already progressed to an advanced stage.<\/p>\n<p>However, Judge Frank Caprio, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wpri.com\/news\/local-news\/providence\/judge-caprio-diagnosed-with-pancreatic-cancer\/\" rel=\"nofollow\"> who has been battling this \u201cinsidious disease\u201d since 2023<\/a>, said he never let those statistics bring him down.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PROVIDENCE, R.I.
