The results are <a href=\"https:\/\/tc.copernicus.org\/articles\/19\/597\/2025\/\" target=\"_blank\">published<\/a> in the journal The Cryosphere.<\/p>\n<p>Using cutting-edge regional climate models (RCMs) at a <a href=\"https:\/\/phys.org\/tags\/high+spatial+resolution\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">high spatial resolution<\/a> of just one kilometer, the researchers explored how atmospheric rivers interact with Antarctica\u2019s rugged terrain to deliver significant precipitation to key areas, including the Thwaites and Pine Island Ice Shelves in West Antarctica.
