Among other goals, they\u2019ll be collecting surface samples from the station to analyze for the presence of microbes.<\/p>\n<p>The ISS \u201csurface swab\u201d is part of the ISS External Microorganisms project. It was developed to understand how microorganisms are transported by crew members to space.
