Dennett explains why it\u2019s wrong to regard phenomenal consciousness (the \u201cwhat it\u2019s likeness\u201d or \u201craw experience\u201d version) as separate from access consciousness (the cognitive access of information for decision making, memory, report, etc).<\/p>\n<p>Note that Dennett doesn\u2019t deny the existence of phenomenal consciousness here, just the idea that it\u2019s something separate and apart from access. He even passes up opportunities to dismiss qualia, although he does provide a reduction of them.<\/p>\n<p>This video is about 66 minutes long.
