{"id":204453,"date":"2025-01-24T18:23:00","date_gmt":"2025-01-25T00:23:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lifeboat.com\/blog\/2025\/01\/anthropic-ceo-sees-ai-powered-advances-doubling-human-lifespans"},"modified":"2025-01-24T18:23:00","modified_gmt":"2025-01-25T00:23:00","slug":"anthropic-ceo-sees-ai-powered-advances-doubling-human-lifespans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lifeboat.com\/blog\/2025\/01\/anthropic-ceo-sees-ai-powered-advances-doubling-human-lifespans","title":{"rendered":"Anthropic CEO Sees AI-Powered Advances Doubling Human Lifespans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a class=\"aligncenter blog-photo\" href=\"https:\/\/lifeboat.com\/blog.images\/anthropic-ceo-sees-ai-powered-advances-doubling-human-lifespans2.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Anthropic CEO <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/dario-amodei-3934934\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dario Amodei<\/a> said Thursday (Jan. 23) that accelerated advances in artificial intelligence (AI), particularly in biology, can lead to a doubling of human lifespans in as little as five to 10 years \u201cif we really get this AI stuff right.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During a <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.weforum.org\/meetings\/world-economic-forum-annual-meeting-2025\/sessions\/technology-in-the-world\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> panel<\/a> at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.weforum.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">World Economic Forum<\/a> in Davos, Amodei called this the \u201cgrand vision.\u201d He explained that if AI today can shrink a century\u2019s worth of work in biology to five to 10 years, and if one believes it would take 100 years to double the average length of human life, then \u201ca doubling of the human lifespan is not at all crazy, and if AI is able to accelerate that we may be able to get that in five to 10 years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Amodei also said that Anthropic is working on a \u201cvirtual collaborator,\u201d an AI agent capable of doing higher-level tasks in the workplace such as opening Google Docs, using the Slack messaging channel, and interacting with workers.
