It\u2019s a recap of 2015 for transhumanism and includes some select stories &amp; videos:<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>Last year, I wrote that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.psychologytoday.com\/blog\/the-transhumanist-philosopher\/201412\/transhumanism-grew-rapidly-in-2014\" target=\"_hplink\">2014<\/a> was a great year for the transhumanism movement. But 2015 was simply incredible \u2014 it might end up being called a breakout year. I\u2019m not yet willing to declare transhumanism as \u201cmainstream,\u201d but it\u2019s getting quite close now. Transhumanism has <a href=\"http:\/\/www.slate.com\/blogs\/future_tense\/2014\/08\/28\/singularity_transhumanism_humanity_what_word_should_we_use_to_discuss_the.html\" target=\"_hplink\">become a word<\/a> that is used frequently by people around the world and in major media when discussing radical science and technology changing our species.<\/p>\n<p>Below is a quick recap of some select stories in English that came out this year on transhumanism and some of my efforts to bring the future closer.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s start with what might end up the most in-depth story on transhumanism ever written. <em>The Verge<\/em> sent journalist Elmo Keep to ride on the coffin-shaped Immortality Bus. Two months later a behemoth <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theverge.com\/a\/transhumanism-2015\" target=\"_hplink\">10,000+ word piece<\/a> appeared, leading the front page of the site for a few days. The article was also translated into numerous languages. Photographer Nancy Borowick astonished us with amazing photos of transhumanist activism. Then, <em>Digg <\/em>ran the story and had a <a href=\"http:\/\/digg.com\/dialog\/zoltan-istvan-president\" target=\"_hplink\">chat session<\/a> on the piece with the author.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/zoltan-istvan\/transhumanism-continued-t_b_8882508.html\" target=\"_blank\">Read more<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My latest piece for The Huffington Post.
