The discoveries, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41586-024-08350-8\" target=\"_blank\">published<\/a> in the journal <i>Nature<\/i>, could pave the way for future therapies to slow or manage the aging process in the brain.<\/p>\n<p>The scientists discovered dozens of specific cell types, mostly <a href=\"https:\/\/phys.org\/tags\/glial+cells\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">glial cells<\/a>, known as brain support cells, that underwent significant gene expression changes with age.
