These crystal structures are often determined by a method known as <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/serc.carleton.edu\/research_education\/geochemsheets\/techniques\/XRD.html\" rel=\"noopener ugc nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">X-ray diffraction technique (XRD)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>These crystal structures play an import role in determining many physical properties such as the <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Electronic_band_structure#:~:text=In%20solid%2Dstate%20physics%2C%20the, band%20gaps%20or%20forbidden%20bands).\" rel=\"noopener ugc nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">electronic band structure<\/a>, <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC8420770\/#:~:text=Introduction-, Cleavage%20is%20the%20ability%20of%20single%20crystals%20to%20split%20easily, Miller%20indices%2Flarge%20interplanar%20distances.\" rel=\"noopener ugc nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">cleavage<\/a> and explains many of their physical and chemical properties.<\/p>\n<p>This article aims to discuss an approach to identify these structures by various machine learning and deep learning methods.
