They\u2019re <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/nature10983\">common in invasive breast cancer<\/a>, and it\u2019s thought the chromosome imbalance enables cancer to spread and evade the body\u2019s immune defenses.<\/p>\n<p>Now it appears aneuploid cells might also be present even when there\u2019s no cancer in sight.
