The study is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s43587-024-00746-5\" target=\"_blank\">published<\/a> in Nature Aging.<\/p>\n<p>With the <a href=\"https:\/\/medicalxpress.com\/tags\/aging+process\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">aging process<\/a>, the risk of developing cancer significantly increases. In recent years, it has been reported that immune aging has an important impact on tumor development. Immune aging is a degenerative change in the immune system that occurs with aging, leading to a decline in <a href=\"https:\/\/medicalxpress.com\/tags\/immune+response\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">immune response<\/a> and ultimately triggering diseases including tumors.<\/p>\n<p>Within the immune system, CD8<sup>+<\/sup> T cells are the main defensive adaptive immune cells protecting against <a href=\"https:\/\/medicalxpress.com\/tags\/tumor+cells\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">tumor cells<\/a>.
