We need One System to be able to engage All Types and All Classes of drones, w\/ EMF \u2014 RF jammers, Microwaves, Lasers, Projectiles, and Missiles. All acting simultaneously, to engage a So Called Drone Swarm.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>U.S. Air Force officials at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia are looking at installing anti-drone nets to help protect <a href=\"https:\/\/www.twz.com\/air\/f-22-spotted-with-new-stealth-wing-tanks-irst-pods\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">F-22 Raptor<\/a> stealth fighters on the flightline. This comes nearly a year after the base was subjected to waves of still-mysterious drone incursions, which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.twz.com\/air\/mysterious-drones-swarmed-langley-afb-for-weeks\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em><i>The War Zone<\/i><\/em> was first to report<\/a>. It also underscores <a href=\"https:\/\/www.twz.com\/13284\/americas-gaping-short-range-air-defense-gap-and-why-it-has-to-be-closed-immediately\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the U.S. military\u2019s continued lag<\/a> when it comes to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.twz.com\/biden-is-getting-serious-about-drone-threat-to-homeland\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">responding to the very real threats<\/a> posed by uncrewed aerial systems, at home and aboard, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.twz.com\/land\/enclosures-to-defend-f-15es-from-drone-attacks-eyed-at-seymour-johnson-afb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">particular hurdles to doing so domestically<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Langley\u2019s 633rd Contracting Squadron <a href=\"https:\/\/sam.gov\/opp\/b360532cfbcc404ba85583e507d36bdd\/view\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">put out a notice<\/a> on October 4 asking for information about potential counter-drone netting that could be installed around up to 42 existing open-ended sunshade-type shelters at the base. Langley, now technically part of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jble.af.mil\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Joint Base Langley-Eustis<\/a>, is one of a select few bases to host F-22s and is a key component of the Air Force\u2019s posture to defend the U.S. homeland.<\/p>\n<p>The 633rd \u201cis in the process of determining the acquisition strategy to obtain non-personal services for the Unmanned Ariel Services (UAS) Netting for East Ramp Metal Sunshades,\u201d according to the contracting notice. \u201cThe intention of the netting is to deter and ultimately prevent the intrusion of UAS\u2019s near airmen and aircraft.
