It\u2019s always been claimed that this type of privacy invasion doesn\u2019t happen. However, a marketing agency, whose clients included Facebook and Google, has admitted to using an \u201cActive Listening\u201d feature that eavesdrops on conversations via phone mics to gather data.<\/p>\n<p>A pitch deck from Cox Media Group (CMG), seen by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.404media.co\/heres-the-pitch-deck-for-active-listening-ad-targeting\/\">404 Media<\/a>, states that the marketing firm uses its AI-powered Active Listening software to capture real-time data by listening to phone users\u2019 conversations.
