It can be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scientificamerican.com\/article\/what-is-pi-and-how-did-it-originate\/\">found in circles<\/a>, of course\u2014as well as in pendulums, springs and river bends. This everyday number is linked to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scientificamerican.com\/article\/a-wild-claim-about-the-powers-of-pi-creates-a-transcendental-mystery\/\">transcendental mysteries<\/a>. It has inspired <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scientificamerican.com\/article\/does-pi-contain-all-of-shakespeare\/\">Shakespearean thought puzzles<\/a>, baking challenges and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scientificamerican.com\/podcast\/episode\/if-the-mathematical-constant-pi-was-a-song-what-would-it-sound-like\/\">even an original song<\/a>.
