The unit vector is <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Dimensionless_quantity\" title=\"Dimensionless quantity\">dimensionless<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The <i>Cauchy stress tensor<\/i> obeys the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Covariant_transformation\" title=\"Covariant transformation\">tensor transformation law<\/a> under a change in the system of coordinates.
