However, previous limitations in focusing light have caused optical interference, making it difficult to measure these excitons accurately.<\/p>\n<p>Kyoto University researchers have developed a new technique to reduce moir\u00e9 excitons, allowing for accurate measurement of quantum coherence time. Their findings, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41467-024-48623-4\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">published<\/a> in <em>Nature Communications<\/em>, reveal that the quantum coherence of a single moir\u00e9 exciton remains stable for over 12 picoseconds at &minus;269\u00b0C, significantly longer than that of excitons in traditional two-dimensional semiconductors. The confined moir\u00e9 excitons in interference fringes help maintain quantum coherence, advancing the potential of quantum technology.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe combined electron beam microfabrication techniques with reactive ion etching.
