The plant will supply cells for over 150,000 competitively-priced <a href=\"https:\/\/electrek.co\/guides\/hyundai\/\">Hyundai<\/a> and Kia EVs, starting with the new Kona Electric.<\/p>\n<p>In March 2021, Hyundai <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hyundai.news\/eu\/articles\/press-releases\/hyundai-lg-energy-solution-mou-indonesian-government-ev-battery-cell-plant.html\">teamed up with LG<\/a> to build a new EV battery cell plant near the capital of Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>Hyundai and LG invested $1.1 billion for a 50\/50 stake in the factory.
