It\u2019s usually caused by a brain injury, such as a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freethink.com\/robots-ai\/atalante-exoskeleton\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">stroke<\/a>, or a neurological disorder, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freethink.com\/health\/dbs-device\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Parkinson\u2019s disease<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freethink.com\/health\/treatment-for-als\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ALS<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Some people with anarthria write or use eye-tracking tech to communicate, but this \u201cspeech\u201d is far slower than the average talking speed.
