First there was the discovery of the most <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sciencealert.com\/here-s-everything-we-know-about-the-most-earth-like-exoplanet-ever-found\">Earth-like exoplanet<\/a> to date, and just last month researchers <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sciencealert.com\/shared%20evidence%20of%20salty,%20flowing%20water%20(!!)%20on%20the%20Red%20Planet.%20\">shared evidence of salty, flowing water (!!) on the Red Planet.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>So suffice it to say that when the US space agency says it\u2019s got something big to share with the world, we\u2019re going to pay attention, and this Thursday at 2pm EST it\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/press-release\/nasa-to-announce-new-findings-on-fate-of-mars-atmosphere\">promising to announce \u201ckey science findings\u201d<\/a> about what happened to Mars\u2019 now-thin atmosphere. We\u2019ll be live reporting the announcement as it happens, and you can watch along with us from the comfort of your home or office below <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ustream.tv\/NASAHDTV\">via NASA TV<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The question we\u2019re all asking, naturally, is what the hell NASA might have in store for us. So far, we don\u2019t have a whole lot to go on, but what we do know is that the research comes fom the MAVEN (Mars, Atmosphere and Volatile Evolution) spacecraft, which has been orbiting Mars since 2014 and studying its upper atmosphere.
