And a <a href=\"https:\/\/mashable.com\/category\/nasa\" target=\"_self\">NASA<\/a> spacecraft is watching it happen.<\/p>\n<p>The space agency\u2019s Juno probe, which has orbited <a href=\"https:\/\/mashable.com\/article\/jupiter-asteroid-impact-footage\" target=\"_self\">Jupiter<\/a> since 2016, swooped by the gas giant\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/mashable.com\/article\/nasa-io-volcano-moon-images-closest\" target=\"_self\">volcanic moon Io<\/a> last week, its last close planned flyby. The craft captured a world teeming with volcanoes, which you can see in the footage below.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re seeing an incredible amount of detail on the surface,\u201d Ashley Davies, a planetary scientist at NASA\u2019s Jet Propulsion Laboratory who researches Io, told Mashable in February after a recent <a href=\"https:\/\/mashable.com\/article\/nasa-io-images-close-flyby\" target=\"_self\">Io flyby<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s just a cornucopia of data.
