But another type of planet-friendly vehicle, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.caranddriver.com\/features\/a41103863\/hydrogen-cars-fcev\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">hydrogen car<\/a>, has yet to catch on, for a few different reasons.<\/p>\n<p>Now, a new technique <a href=\"https:\/\/interestingengineering.com\/innovation\/green-hydrogen-succefully-produced-from-plastic-waste\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">developed<\/a> by researchers at Rice University in Texas may provide the key to making hydrogen cars \u2014 and hydrogen fuel as a whole \u2014 more viable.<\/p>\n<p>Hydrogen is incredibly attractive as an alternative to gas and oil \u2014 it is a storable fuel that produces no planet-overheating pollution when used.
