But new video released hours ago makes it clear that autonomous humanoid work is starting to accelerate like mad.<\/p>\n<p>Norwegian robotics company 1X is <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/newatlas.com\/robotics\/openai-figure-ai-robotics\/\" data-cms-ai=\"0\">OpenAI\u2019s other bet in the humanoid game<\/a> \u2013 the bigger recent headline being its investment in, and <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/newatlas.com\/robotics\/figure-01-openai-humanoid-robot-real-time-conversations\/\" data-cms-ai=\"0\">collaboration with American company Figure<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>1X\u2019s Eve robots don\u2019t have legs; they roll around on wheeled platforms. They don\u2019t have the extraordinary hands that companies like Sanctuary AI, Figure and Tesla are making, settling instead for stumpy-looking claw grippers.
