In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cell.com\/cell-reports\/fulltext\/S2211-1247(24)00200-6\">paper<\/a> in the journal <i>Cell Reports<\/i>, Institute for Systems Biology (ISB) researchers highlight a novel discovery of how the human immune system works in common ways across diseases, and offer promising avenues for exploring multi-disease therapeutic strategies.<\/p>\n<p>Many therapies, while effective for one class of disease, may aggravate others. Cancer treatments like <a href=\"https:\/\/medicalxpress.com\/tags\/immune+checkpoint+blockade\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">immune checkpoint blockade<\/a>, for example, can trigger autoimmunity.
