In today\u2019s post, we will look at the mix of the two parameters\u2014the price per mile of the EPA Combined range.<\/p>\n<p>That may sound complex, but it\u2019s merely a metric that indicates the best value proposition overall, and something that gives us an idea of the \u201ccost\u201d of range. By checking this metric, we can also see whether there is progress over time compared to earlier reports: see <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/566438\/bev-price-per-range-20220209\/\">February 2022<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/490449\/bev-price-per-mile-comparison-us-20210224\/\">February 2021<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/insideevs.com\/news\/409235\/us-most-affordable-bev-range-april-2020\/\">April 2020<\/a>. As it turns out, progress is happening on this front, and the cost of the driving range is going down.<\/p>\n<p>Before we jump into details, let\u2019s just explain the basics. There are more than 300 individual EV configurations on sale, including different battery sizes, ranges, powertrain setups, and wheels\u2014all of which directly affect the price and range.
