So, how can galaxies be traveling faster than the speed of light if nothing is supposed to be able to break this cosmic speed limit?<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m a little world of contradictions. \u201cNot even light itself can escape a black hole,\u201d and then, \u201cblack holes are the brightest objects in the Universe.\u201d I\u2019ve also said \u201cnothing can travel faster than the speed of light\u201d. And then I\u2019ll say something like, \u201cgalaxies are moving away from us faster than the speed of light.\u201d There\u2019s more than a few items on this list, and it\u2019s confusing at best. Thanks Universe!<\/p>\n<p>So, how can galaxies be traveling faster than the speed of light when nothing can travel faster than light? Warp speed galaxies come up when I talk about the expansion of the Universe.
