The decision marked a watershed moment in the history of healthcare, being the first time that gene therapies have won FDA approval.<\/p>\n<p>One of the treatments, Casgevy, is the result of a collaboration between CRISPR Therapeutics [CRSP] and Vertex Pharmaceuticals [VRTX].
