If our findings can one day be compared with activity measured in the brain, we may come one step closer to validating or dismissing Penrose and Hameroff\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/plato.stanford.edu\/entries\/qt-consciousness\/\">controversial theory<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><b>Brains and Fractals<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Our brains are composed of cells called <a href=\"https:\/\/singularityhub.com\/2020\/06\/23\/in-a-hybrid-neural-circuit-artificial-and-biological-neurons-used-dopamine-to-communicate\/\">neurons<\/a>, and their combined activity is believed to generate consciousness. Each neuron contains <a href=\"https:\/\/psych.athabascau.ca\/html\/Psych402\/Biotutorials\/1\/microtubules.shtml\">microtubules<\/a>, which transport substances to different parts of the cell.
