In a new study <a href=\"https:\/\/www.science.org\/doi\/10.1126\/science.abo0233\" class=\"\">published in the journal <em>Science<\/em><\/a>, researchers out of Pennsylvania State described their whopper discovery: a Neptune-sized planet that\u2019s 13 times the mass of Earth, which is orbiting a tiny ultracool star that\u2019s nine times <em>less<\/em> massive than our Sun.<\/p>\n<p>As a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.psu.edu\/news\/research\/story\/discovery-planet-too-big-its-sun-throws-solar-system-formation-models\/\" class=\"\">press release about the new research<\/a> explains, this finding is exceptional because the mass ratio between the planet and the dwarf star, dubbed LHS 3,154, is 100 times greater than the same ratio Earth has with its Sun \u2014 which scientists didn\u2019t think was possible until they saw it with their own eyes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Scientists have discovered an impossibly large planet \u2014 so big, they say, that it should be too big to exist.
