Together, they complete NASA\u2019s first two-way, end-to-end laser relay system.<\/p>\n<p>NASA\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/technology\/6-things-you-need-to-know-about-nasas-laser-communications-relay-demonstration\/\">LCRD<\/a> (Laser Communications Relay Demonstration) and the new space station demonstration, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/technology\/space-comms\/nasas-first-two-way-end-to-end-laser-communications-system\/\">ILLUMA-T<\/a> (Integrated LCRD Low Earth Orbit User Modem and Amplifier Terminal), successfully exchanged data for the first time.
