Spinning out of a research program from our team and academic collaborators, with roots in <a href=\"https:\/\/hazyresearch.stanford.edu\/blog\/2023-06-08-hyena-safari\" target=\"_blank\">signal processing-inspired sequence models<\/a>, we are excited to introduce the <strong>StripedHyena <\/strong>models. This release includes <a href=\"https:\/\/huggingface.co\/togethercomputer\/StripedHyena-Hessian-7B\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>StripedHyena-Hessian-7B<\/strong> <strong>(SH 7B)<\/strong><\/a>, a base model, and <a href=\"https:\/\/huggingface.co\/togethercomputer\/StripedHyena-Nous-7B\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>StripedHyena-Nous-7B (SH-N 7B)<\/strong><\/a>, a chat model. StripedHyena builds on the many lessons learned in the past year on designing efficient sequence modeling architectures: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.together.ai\/blog\/hungry-hungry-hippos-towards-language-modeling-with-state-space-models\">H3<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/hazyresearch.stanford.edu\/blog\/2023-03-07-hyena\" target=\"_blank\">Hyena<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/hazyresearch.stanford.edu\/blog\/2023-06-29-hyena-dna\" target=\"_blank\">HyenaDNA<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.together.ai\/blog\/monarch-mixer\">Monarch Mixer<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One of the focus areas at Together Research is new architectures for long context, improved training, and inference performance over the Transformer architecture.
