D., IBM Research<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Building a computer that could match the power of the human brain has long been a goal of scientists.<\/p>\n<p>In August, we made a breakthrough, published in <i>Science<\/i> in collaboration with Cornell Tech, which is a significant step toward bringing <a href=\"http:\/\/www.research.ibm.com\/cognitive-computing\/neurosynaptic-chips.shtml\" rel=\"nofollow\">cognitive computers to society<\/a>.
