The chip shows that YMTC has not given up on developing cutting-edge technology despite facing US sanctions that have restricted its access to essential equipment and components.<\/p>\n<p>The report also said that YMTC\u2019s breakthrough followed another \u201cinnovation\u201d by China\u2019s semiconductor industry, which was revealed by <em>TechInsights<\/em> earlier. The firm analyzed the <a href=\"https:\/\/interestingengineering.com\/culture\/huaweis-new-chip-changes-tech-landscape\" title=\"Kirin 9000S 5G processor in Huawei\u2019s Mate 60 Pro\" rel=\"dofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\">Kirin 9000S 5G processor in Huawei\u2019s Mate 60 Pro<\/a> smartphone, which was released in August. The processor was said to be made by China\u2019s largest chip maker, SMIC, also under US sanctions.
