This could mean learning to solve problems in unexpected ways, recognising the nuances of speech, or exhibiting some form of human-like creativity.<\/p>\n<p>Just as no single quality defines human thinking, no clear line differentiates more basic computer programs from AI. It can be thought of more as an ideal than a category \u2014 using our own penchant for learning and problem solving to inspire new technology and answers to some of our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencealert.com\/artificial-intelligence\/neural-networks-are-tackling-one-of-the-hardest-problems-in-physics-faster-than-ever\">biggest and most complex questions<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>There are many different fields of AI, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencealert.com\/artificial-intelligence\/elon-musk-and-over-100-ai-experts-are-urging-the-un-to-ban-killer-robots\">\u2019robotics\u2019<\/a>, but one of the most commonly known forms is referred to as \u2018machine learning\u2019.
