There is presently no information available on when the Gemini North telescope in Hawaii and the Gemini South telescope in Chile will resume operations. A number of smaller <a href=\"https:\/\/www.securitynewspaper.com\/2022\/11\/04\/one-of-the-worlds-largest-telescopes-becomes-target-of-cyber-criminales-affecting-the-observatory-operations\/\">telescopes<\/a> on the slopes of Cerro Tololo in Chile were also shut down \u201cout of an abundance of caution\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The IT team at the National Science Foundation\u2019s NOIRLab discovered suspicious behavior in the laboratory\u2019s computer systems early on the morning of August 1.
