Socially, they reject their fellow males and zero in on the females they discern via chemical receptors\u2014or so scientists thought.<\/p>\n<p>New research from Cornell University biologists suggests the <a href=\"https:\/\/phys.org\/tags\/fruit\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">fruit<\/a> fly\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/phys.org\/tags\/visual+system\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">visual system<\/a>, not just chemical receptors, are deeply involved with their social behaviors.
