It is a \u201ccomposite\u201d particle made up of a combination of electrons, in a solid.<\/p>\n<p>In 1956, theoretical physicist David Pines predicted that electrons in a solid could do something strange. <a href=\"https:\/\/cosmosmagazine.com\/science\/electron-whirlpool-first-time\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Electrons<\/a> have both mass and charge.
