So, saying that the company is set to start sending out a processor called Tunnel Falls would seem unsurprising if it weren\u2019t for some key details. Among them: The processor\u2019s functional units are qubits, and you shouldn\u2019t expect to be able to pick one up on New Egg. Ever.<\/p>\n<p>Tunnel Falls appears to be named <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theoutbound.com\/oregon\/hiking\/hike-to-tunnel-falls\">after a waterfall<\/a> near Intel\u2019s Oregon facility, where the company\u2019s quantum research team does much of its work. It\u2019s a 12-qubit chip, which places it well behind the qubit count of many of Intel\u2019s competitors\u2014all of which are making processors available via cloud services.
