Engineers at the University of Pittsburgh are today exploring how optical \u201cmemristors\u201d may be a key to developing neuromorphic computing.<\/p>\n<p>Resistors with memory, or memristors, have already demonstrated their versatility in electronics, with applications as computational circuit elements in <a href=\"https:\/\/phys.org\/tags\/neuromorphic+computing\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">neuromorphic computing<\/a> and compact memory elements in high-density data storage.
