Silicon Valley is looking to capitalize on AI\u2019s big moment, and every tech Goliath worth its salt is feverishly looking to churn out a new product to keep pace with ChatGPT\u2019s <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/gizmodo.com\/chatgpt-apps-ai-microsoft-google-1850065429\">100 million users<\/a>. Microsoft kicked things off nicely earlier this month with its integration of ChatGPT into Bing, with Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella proclaiming, \u201cThe race starts today.\u201d The OG tech giant <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.microsoft.com\/blog\/2023\/02\/07\/reinventing-search-with-a-new-ai-powered-microsoft-bing-and-edge-your-copilot-for-the-web\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">says<\/a> it wants to use the chatbot to \u201cempower people to unlock the joy of discovery,\u201d whatever that means. Not to be outdone, Google announced that it would be <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2023\/2\/6\/23588033\/google-chatgpt-rival-bard-testing-rollout-features\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">launching<\/a> its own AI search integration, dubbed \u201cBard\u201d (Google\u2019s tool already made a mistake upon launch, costing the company a <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2023\/02\/08\/alphabet-shares-slip-following-googles-ai-event-.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">stock slump<\/a>). In China, meanwhile, the tech giants Alibaba (basically the Chinese version of Amazon) and Baidu (Chinese Google) <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2023\/02\/08\/tech\/china-alibaba-ai-bot-announcement-chatgpt-rival-intl-hnk\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">recently announced<\/a> that they would also be pursuing their own respective AI tools.<\/p>\n<p>Do the people actually <em>want<\/em> an AI \u201crevolution\u201d? It\u2019s <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/03\/17\/health\/ai-human-enhancements\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">not totally clear<\/a> but whether they want it or not, it\u2019s pretty clear that the tech industry is going to give it to them.
