{"id":164238,"date":"2023-05-19T18:21:16","date_gmt":"2023-05-19T23:21:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lifeboat.com\/blog\/2023\/05\/stability-ai-releases-stablestudio-the-open-source-future-of-dreamstudio"},"modified":"2023-05-19T19:28:08","modified_gmt":"2023-05-20T00:28:08","slug":"stability-ai-releases-stablestudio-the-open-source-future-of-dreamstudio","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lifeboat.com\/blog\/2023\/05\/stability-ai-releases-stablestudio-the-open-source-future-of-dreamstudio","title":{"rendered":"Stability AI Releases StableStudio, the Open-Source Future of DreamStudio"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a class=\"aligncenter blog-photo\" href=\"https:\/\/lifeboat.com\/blog.images\/stability-ai-releases-stablestudio-the-open-source-future-of-dreamstudio2.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Stability AI, the AI startup behind the text-to-image model <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/tag\/stable-diffusion\/\">Stable Diffusion<\/a>, this week announced the release of <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/Stability-AI\/StableStudio\">StableStudio<\/a>, an open source version of DreamStudio, Stability AI\u2019s commercial AI-powered design suite.<\/p>\n<p>In a blog <a href=\"https:\/\/stability.ai\/blog\/stablestudio-open-source-community-driven-future-dreamstudio-release\">post<\/a>, Stability AI writes that it hopes to \u201cfoster a project [that] can outpace anything developed by a single company,\u201d alluding to recent investments in the generative AI space from tech giants like Microsoft, Google and Amazon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe believe the best way to expand upon that impressive reach is through open, community-driven development rather than a private iteration of a closed-source product,\u201d Stability AI said. \u201cOur goal is to work with the broader community to create a world-class user interface for generative AI [that] users fully control.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>DreamStudio was first imagined as an animation studio for the open source generative AI art model Disco Diffusion. Focus shifted last year toward image generation with the arrival of Stable Diffusion, which brought DreamStudio more in line with rival generative image platforms like MidJourney and Nightcafe.<\/p>\n<p>The differences between StableStudio and DreamStudio are relatively minor.
