In particular, Einstein took issue with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencealert.com\/entanglement\">entanglement<\/a>, the notion that a particle could be affected by another particle that wasn\u2019t close by.<\/p>\n<p>Experiments since <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencealert.com\/quantum-spookiness-has-been-confirmed-by-first-loophole-free-experiment\">have shown<\/a> that quantum <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencealert.com\/entanglement\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_self\">entanglement<\/a> is indeed possible and that two entangled particles can be connected over a distance. Now a new experiment further confirms it, and in a way we haven\u2019t seen before.<\/p>\n<p>In the new experiment, scientists used a 30-meter-long tube cooled to close to absolute zero to run a <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bell_test\">Bell test<\/a>: a random measurement on two entangled qubit (quantum bit) particles at the same time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Albert Einstein wasn\u2019t entirely convinced about quantum mechanics, suggesting our understanding of it was incomplete.
