While NASA and its partners have committed to keeping it in operation until 2030, plans are already in place for successor space stations that will carry on the ISS\u2019 legacy.<\/p>\n<p>China plans to assume a leading role with Tiangong, while the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.isro.gov.in\/\">India Space Research Organization<\/a> (ISRO) plans to deploy its own space station <a href=\"https:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/india\/india-to-have-its-own-space-station-isro\/articleshow\/69775360.cms\">by mid-decade<\/a>. NASA has also contracted with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.universetoday.com\/153491\/nasa-plans-to-retire-the-space-station-in-2030-and-replace-it-with-commercially-owned-destinations-in-low-earth-orbit\/\">three aerospace companies<\/a> to design commercial space stations, including Blue Origin\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.universetoday.com\/153106\/blue-origin-announces-the-orbital-reef-the-space-station-they-plan-to-build-in-orbit\/\">Orbital Reef<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axiomspace.com\/axiom-station\">Axiom Space Station<\/a> (AxS), and <a href=\"https:\/\/starlab-space.com\/\">Starlab<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Well, buckle up!
