Outside their window, trees gather sunlight and turn them into new leaves. The two seem unrelated\u2014but a new study from the University of Chicago suggests that these processes aren\u2019t so different as they might appear on the surface.<\/p>\n<p>The study, published in <i>PRX Energy<\/i> on April 28, found links at the <a href=\"https:\/\/phys.org\/tags\/atomic+level\/\" rel=\"tag\" class=\"\">atomic level<\/a> between photosynthesis and exciton condensates\u2014a strange state of physics that allows energy to flow frictionlessly through a material.
